We are not simply a camp site, we are a wonderful natural garden in the middle of the mountains. The air is so clean that you can feel it in your lungs, and the natural atmosphere has a virginal quality! Here you will find wonderful spots with magical views and moments that you will never forget. The streets here are not asphalt or tarmac but sand or irregular stones. The people live from the product that they made themselves and raised. And in the vicinity you can also visit very nice places like the coastal city of Viana do Castelo, or Ponte de Lima (the oldest village in Portugal) and many other places. Our place is also 20 km from the coast, 50 km from Spain and 50 km from Porto (closest airport). We are open from May till October.

I'm starting to build a new place with "domos geodesicos" *search in google, and an organic pool. There will also be much gardening work and I will be pleased to have help from all kind people with knowledge or expertise in the following areas: Construction, canalization, electricity, gardening, architecture, etc. We can provide a tent to camp, on our site but it would also be helpful or better if you could bring your own. We will also provide 1 meal a day. This is because this year we will not limit the number of workawayers. We accept suggestions to ;) In the vicinity we have many nice view points on the mountain. You can also hike many trails in the mountains, through the woods and through nice little populaces. In the summer time, from July till September all the villages in the locality, have traditional festivals, very big and for free, like in Nossa senhora das Neves, Barroselas, Vila de Punhe, and then are the big Fests like "Festas da Agonia" in Viana do Castelo, or "Feiras Novas" in Ponte de Lima.

We are making an association for naturists & non-naturists, to help to improve the idea of NaturViana. The members of NaturViana Association will receive free days a year to stay at our place and they also become part of this new family and follow and be a part of many adventures, activities or events that happen here. Our idea is to make our guests feel completely at home, so all our guests are free to make something of the place or just relax and taste a nice holiday. We accept ideas and suggestions for activities or other subjects made by the members. NaturViana - naturismo is an idea to build a natural place for family and friends looking for holidays, adventure and amazing places & views. So the idea is to create a place for naturists and non-naturists, separated into the two seasons of the year. So from the 1st October til 31st March would be non-naturist and from 1st April til 31st September would be naturist. We are located in the middle of the woods, up to 400m high, conveniently just 1 km from the village of Portela Susã. Like we said before the idea is to build a natural place, so we are trying to build this as natural and green as possible without counting on water or electricity from the city, not only because we want to follow this green ethos but also because the location is out of reach of these utilities.

We have 2 wells, one produces around 5000 liters daily and the other is responsible for supplying two other pounds. At this moment we have already made a circuit for the water from this well through the site incorporating some water points for the campers and for watering the plants. We have also constructed a 10000 liter capacity reservoir on site to distribute the water through the upper part of the land. These tanks are filled with the water from our own well when necessary, with a self-made pump, used to pump the water from the lower area up to the tanks. This pump works without any electricity, using only the power of the water, pushing the water through more then 100m of tubing to more than 50m high. For the electricity we are implanting solar panels, to produce around 6000-8000W per day. Enough for the lighting, the first infrastructures, organic pool and for the campers. We can also upgrade the quantity of energy or the electricity production when necessary, only needing to improve the number of batteries or solar panels. No sewers, no septic tanks or contaminated ground. All the toilets, outside and at the bathroom from the Domes will be Bio-toilets, made from wooden boxes.

No smell or unhygienic feelings, these toilets don't smell and are more comfortable that normal toilets. The excretions together with the earth, paper and wood waste, are collected and placed on a compost centrum, where after some time we can use it as a compost for the plants. The water from the showers and other facilities (dirty water), would be canalized to the pounds where fishes and plants regenerate the water so she can continue her course or be reused. No shower gels or shampoos would be allowed at our place, unless a camper has a real need, then we can make exceptions. We will provide our own bio products, like shower gels, shampoos, dish gel or other cleaning products to not contaminate the water, fishes, plants or the natural environment..

The idea is to build all infrastructures shaped like domes, like the dome passionfruit already built at our other place. In this new NaturViana we will start with a dome for bathrooms and laundry and as soon as possible continue with a dome for the bar, a dome sauna, and some for renting. This structure is amazing and is all about design and strength. Like a puzzle it comprises 160 triangles (of Nordic Pine, typical of the region) with different measurements.

The geodesic shape optimizes the load, with his strength connections, displacing forces throughout the entire structure. The geodesic dome is a perfect passive solar energy collector, acting as a giant light reflector dome inwards, also focusing and reflecting interior heat. This helps prevent heat loss by outward radiation. Dome ventilation with suitable openings in the base, medium and peak (dome) provide an excellent mix of air movement and temperature, working as a chimney, bottom-up and centre. That way we get constant indoor temperature regulation. The cost for heating by stoves, heaters or fireplaces of a geodesic dome is considerably reduced by up to 50%. Its shape is usually found in nature and that makes us both call attention to a space not normally used by architects. Lately we find more and more the use of spherical forms in the design buildings. Thanks to having no inner beam we find an open space to freely perform any activity that requires it, such as a living room of a house, a space for meetings or to integrate a pool inside.
